Frequently asked questions
How long should I wait before placing a monument in the cemetery?
  • Most of the time, when a grave is dug, the area in which the monument will be set is undisturbed ground in the row with the other monuments. This means that there is no specific waiting period for placing a monument. However, sometimes graves are not dug properly (meaning the grave might have been dug too far back) either by error or circumstance. In this case it is best to wait until the ground has settled a bit.
What causes a monument to lean?
  • In our experience the most common cause of a monument leaning is the degradation of the concrete foundation caused by fire ant nests. In other cases it is simply the fact that the monument was placed, in part or fully, on top of a grave.
How long does it take for my monument to be delivered once ordered?
  • From the time the order is placed it will take approximately 90 days before your monument is set in the cemetery. Sometimes it could take longer depending on circumstance and/or the availability of stock.
If I order my monument before me or my spouse pass away, are the decease dates included in the price of the original purchase?
  • If you or a family member purchased a monument from us prior to 1979 then there is a good chance that the decease dates were pre-paid as well. After 1979 we stopped accepting pre-payment for decease dates.

To create a personalized monument follow these steps:

1. Click or tap on ( Monuments) then find the style you want and click or tap on it. The monument will appear on the screen.

2. Click or tap on ( Designs) then click or tap on any designs you would like. You can do this multiple times to have different designs on your monument. The designs you choose will appear on the screen. If you click and drag with your mouse or tap and drag with your finger (for mobile devices) you can position the designs wherever you would like on the monument.

3. Click or tap on ( Text) then type the name(s) and/or date(s) or any other wording you would like to have on your monument (use the enter key on your keyboard to start a new line), then click the Add Text button. The text you entered will appear on the screen. If you click and drag with your mouse or tap and drag with your finger (for mobile devices) you can position the text wherever you would like on the monument.

4. If you quickly left click or tap with your finger (for mobile devices) a context menu will appear and provide several options for duplicating, resizing, flipping and rotating any designs or text on your screen. (Note: for now please resize the design before rotating it.)

5. Once you are satisfied with the way the front of the monument looks, you can click the back tab and repeat the steps above to design the back. Just a side note: Flat stones do not have a back so the back tab will be disabled.

6. When you are satisfied with your monument you can either click ( Print) to print it out or you can click ( Save) to save the image to your local computer or you can click ( Email) and enter the information requested to send your design straight to us and get a quote.
